Something Blue
You’ve all heard the saying “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” so out of curiosity, did you follow suit? Originally I intended to find one of each, even though I thought it was silly – i’m slightly superstitious. I purchased a pair of blue shoes to wear, bought a bunch of “new” things, borrowed my sisters hair piece (from her wedding) and then completely forgot about the whole thing. That is, until we were a couple days before the wedding and my mother asked what I brought. Truth was, I forgot the shoes in Canada (blue), I had the “new” and “borrowed” but hadn’t given any thought to “old.” My (slightly) superstitious mind went into over-drive and I realized I had to throw something together. I ran to a David’s Bridal -bought a blue purse (because I also had forgot to bring/buy one) and we wired my grandmothers ring into a rose in my bouquet! Do you follow silly little traditions like this, or do your own thing?
